I went to see the MBA programme manager last night to talk to him before I sign on the dotted line and hand over the first cheque.
There were a couple of things he said that made me go "uh oh" and one of them was the fact that I had to fulfil at least 90% attendance of the classes before I would be allowed to finish the module and sit for the exam. I think 90% is demanding especially for people who have to travel for work. And I know my travel schedule from next month onwards would be a bit crazy considering the travel freeze would be lifted. I had too many meetings that I happily said no to because I couldn't travel and these are coming back to haunt me.
So, after some more thinking, I walked away without signing the application form. And I feel good about it. The attendance requirement didn't quite register the first few times I spoke to the programme manager but alhamdulillah, it has now and I know it's not something I can commit to.

It sounds like you were trying to enroll in one of the small private institutes. Don't. I would recommend one of the "name" schools: NUS, NTU, SMU. Insead, if you can afford it. ;) Although I've taught at the small private institutes here for a number of years, including some MBA classes, they're really more geared for the foreign students (Chinese, Vietnamese, etc.). That's not to say they're getting a bad education; they're not. But you'll get a much better education if you go to one of the main universities here, even on a part-time basis.
