I was flipping through the newspaper's lifestyle section today, and I had a rude reminder that I should have cancelled my subscription ages ago. Of ALL things that the section chose to report on, they reported on a "celebrity" plastic surgeon's birthday party. WTF?
A whole bloody page devoted on her invite list, pictures of what everyone was wearing and how skimpily dressed the waiters were. Give me a break. It's mindless, it's pointless and it is bloody annoying. A waste of column inch, waste of my time looking at the page and waste of my money subscribing.
For the record, I only continued to subscribe to The Straits Times (aka not-so-straight-times) because I wanted the kids to pick up the habit of reading newspapers. But what I saw today confirmed I've got to cancel it right away.
And don't even get me started on their politics reporting.
