Grumpy at work

All the talk across the border and the final fatwa that yoga is now haram is just too annoying for me. Granted, I am not Malaysian and so technically, I am not affected by the edict, I still can't help but feel sorry for those who practise yoga as a form of exercise and I am annoyed at those in power who think by doing a pose, you will lose your religion.

I have never had to chant anything during the class and I have never feel like I had to change my religion after each class. It's time like these that I am glad I live in Singapore.

And especially so after I hear our PM and our President will take a pay cut of close to 20%, with each of them now ending up with slightly more than S$3 million a year. Oh, that must hurt! I wonder what their belt tightening measures look like.

And of course our town councils losing $12 million in those toxic Lehman and Merrill Lynch investments. But you see, that represents only a miniscule percentage of money from the overall honey pot.

Let's see, with that negligible amount of money they could have used it to benefit residents who dutifully pay that amount on a montly basis by REDUCING our conservancy charges since clearly, $12 million is but a small fraction of the monies they have. And they could also try to help residents who are STRUGGLING to pay their conservancy charges.

Maybe, Mauritius is a good place to live in...hmmm.
