I've been trying to get my head around this since I read the story in the newspaper recently. Those in Singapore would remember reading about a Muslim couple who own a chain of cafes. I never knew the owners were Muslims because none of the cafes are halal since pork is included in the menu.
And then there are non-Muslims who set up halal cafes and foodcourts. And most of these outlets are doing very well, judging from the lines at these outlets.
So, can someone explain this irony to me? Why would Muslims set up non-halal cafes and non-Muslims set up halal ones?
