So I know this week, spent at home, will be tiring. I have a long list of to-dos to get the house and the family ready for Eid. And I'm flying solo this week and next since the husband is away (did you hear me scream?).
But surprisingly, I am getting it all to come together nicely. The cleaning is done! People, applause please. It is D-O-N-E. Yes, I have a helper, but I rolled up my sleeves and dusted and cleaned alongside. And on the sidelines, checked everyone's homework and went through Sara's spelling and du'a recitations. No kidding. I feel the glow of a halo forming... I even made chicken rice for iftar and the kids actually liked it! (Oh, thanks for the applause!).
Today, I'm getting the microwave fixed, get all the bills paid - thank God for internet banking! - and then see a friend who's in town after iftar and homework with the kids. Sweet.
