From the Land Beneath the Wind

I'm in Kota Kinabalu right now. Unfortunately not for holidays with the kids and the husband, but with a group of middle-aged businessmen who are charting their business plan as well as reviewing their business performance. Although they are nice folks, I am also glad that LP, a girlfriend that I made at work, is also here with the group. Yes folks, I do have a lunch partner now! (Geez, that sounds pathetic).

I will be making a presentation to this group later today, on how I will be running their communications programme, in support of their business. I've never had to do this in this type of forum, but I am enjoying it. It feels like the days when I had to pitch for a new business or project - days when I was in public relations agencies, loving the adrenaline and rush of winning new accounts.

We're all staying at the Shangri La Tanjung Aru, and can I just say - this place is AMAZING. My room overlooks the open sea and there is a nice patio where I could sit out and enjoy the view. I'm making a mental note of coming back here with the troop.
I've been up since 5.30am - to catch fajar prayer and to watch the sunrise. Man, I could sit here for hours - but I can't and I won't.

I'm going for a jog around the property before meeting LP for breakfast and then look at my presentation again. I want to go in front of my stakeholders to wow them with my plan. Wish me luck.
