With a nearly-12 year old at home, we've been seeing shades of rebellion and pushing of limits with Farah. The husband and I try to be sensitive to Farah's feelings - being a girl and a pre-teen - and when we needed to have these type of conversations, we do them discreetly, making sure the other two kids are not within earshot.
So tonight, I had to reprimand Farah for something that she did at home. In my conversation with her, I told her that the behaviour is unacceptable. I didn't realise Sara was listening to my spiel until after I was done.
After the talk, it was me helping Sara with her homework (can anyone tell me *why* a kindergartener needs to do two pages of homework?!). She is learning different parts of the body and we were at "legs". I pointed out knees, ankles and feet. She looked up at me, after furiously colouring one leg pink and asked why these legs have no shoes on. I said it's just a drawing and she needed to learn "feet" so perhaps that's why. As she coloured on, she muttered to herself, "No shoes. Unacceptable."
Can anyone spell S-H-O-O-T -M-E- N-O-W?
