Seriously, what happened to the time? It zoomed past me and I was caught unaware.
So very quickly, Ramadan was over and Eid was here. In true tradition, we visited some family and ate too much. And then, the kids were gearing up for their final year exams - that means coaching and soothing frayed nerves (mine). They are sitting for their papers this week, am I glad I am not in school anymore.
And before I knew it, it was my birthday. The husband asked me what I wanted for my birthday - we are very pragmatic people, surprises don't work very well with us - and I really don't know what I wanted. Isn't that a huge sign of getting old? I turned 36, and I was just chatting with the husband and before long, we were both aghast at the realisation that in 4 years' time, we will hit the big 4-0. Sheeesh.
So in the end, the husband suggested that I pick my present when we go on our holiday in Kuala Lumpur in December. I am rubbing my hands with glee because I *could* buy a lot there. I like!
