We're all getting a bit excited about Ramadan which is right around the corner. It's a chance to remind ourselves about patience, compassion, be grateful for what we have and have empathy to those who have far less than we do.
The other two kids have told me they are looking forward to fasting the entire month. I told Danial he could try for half a day and gradually do full-days. But he wants to jump right in, so we'll see how we go. Sara said she'll fast, too. In between breakfast, lunch and dinner, I am sure.
In addition to all the spiritual goodness that Ramadan brings, I am hoping to lose some weight. Really. I almost always lose at least 2kgs during Ramadan - but then of course put all of that back on the first day of Shawal.
The husband will be away for about 10 days for work. He's travelling to Europe so we'll have to do the first week or so of Ramadan without him. Bummer.
