Sara is really acting up these days. She's asserting herself more and more, and usually that includes meltdowns and rolling on the floor in tears and frustration. In a more serious incident, she recently broke away from my domestic helper who was holding her hands at a nearby mall, and was lost for 15 minutes before she found Sara at the Information & Security counter, crying.
Many times the husband and I have our patience tested and pushed to the limits and when that happen, we usually snap at her while dishing out time outs and other punishments. I'm usually screaming at that point, too. Regret usually follows quite quickly. And then we watch her when she's asleep and she looks so calm and more regrets follow. But, we have to keep at it, and hope she will slowly understand boundaries and expected behaviour.
I'm counting down the days to when she turns four, marking THE END of the "terrible twos and threes". So, we're one month and one week down, 10 months and 3 weeks to go. Sheeesh.

My brother spent his terrible twos and threes plugging things into outlets and leaving them alone. For example, the curling iron under my sister's sheets and blankets. Or the stove turned on with a newspaper on top. Be happy that she's only throwing tantrums and not burning the house down, i guess.
Wow, that IS dangerous! I can just imagine your parents' anxiety!
