And where did that come from

My kids, as some of you know, are no more babies. They're growing up, complete with their own set of preferences and idiosyncracies. And I marvel at their individual personalities and wonder if some of the things they say or do came from the husband or I.

Danial is a bookworm. He reads anything that he picks up. And that includes the newspaper, Pokemon comics, our translated Qur'an, a sci-fi book or the latest IKEA catalogue or even a real estate agent flyer. He definitely gets that from me. Because as much as I hate to admit it, I was a nerdy and anti-social kid. Always had my nose buried in a book. But I did it because it meant I didn't have to make conversations with people. Some more than others. He does it because he is intuitively curious. And he shares all kinds of (lame) jokes that he either create or ones that he remembers with anyone who will listen. Having said that, he is also very forgetful. Like yours truly. Ask him what he had for dinner last night, he wouldn't be able to tell you. Neither can I.

And then there's Sara. In our household, she is Little Miss Bossy. She loves loves loves telling people what to do. If they play school, she has to be the teacher. And won't have it any other way. If the other two kids give up on her, the helper becomes her student. If all else fails, her teddy bears are it. She gets that from - ta da! - the husband. He's an alpha male and has to be in-charge. All the time. He's mellowed somewhat over the years but yeah, in the course of being in charge, he tells others what to do.

And my dear little Farah. The little girl who is forced to grow up too soon. Losing her mum at a young age has impacted her. She used to be pensive and shy, now she is a blossoming teenager. Complete with teenage angst; moody one minute, happy and cheerful next.

But one thing that the three munchkins have in common, is their inability to pick up their clothes from the floor. Drives me insane. Drives the husband over the wall. And *that*, I don't know where that comes from.
