A wedding!

My sweet girlfriend Farhana is getting married! I've known her for a long time. And I've also known that she was in a long distance relationship for quite a few years. This wedding marks the end of that long distance romance, and the start of their lives together - in the same country, at last! For every long distance relationship that fails, there is always one that survives, as you and Bill have shown.

I love happy endings. And yes, I am tearing as I write this.

Because dearest Farhana, I am in awe of your strength and your courage to keep to this relationship. You had many things going against you - the physical distance between you and Bill, and add to that, the difference in religion and culture. A relationship that could withstand the challenges (and that includes the nay-sayers!) that you both had to face, is definitely a strong one. You know I'm your #1 cheerleader and will always be cheering you on.

I can't wait to see you in your wedding dress. I already know you'll look resplendent! And don't worry, I'll bring plenty tissue paper because you know I will cry buckets.

See you tonight, girlfriend!
