I was invited to attend a get-together lunch for members of the media and analyst community yesterday. The lunch was hosted by the Singapore office of the company I work with. I must say, my Singapore colleagues did a great job putting it together.
When guests started to arrive, there was a four-piece jazz band playing some nice tunes. After some mingling (it was great catching up with some familiar faces again), everyone was seated and then the fun began. A team of percussionists with various types of percussions pounded away to their hearts' content, and alongside was a belly dancer swishing her hips away to the rhythm. Cool!
I am now inspired to learn how to belly dance. I just think it's so great that one can learn how to move one's hips and body with such fluidity. Such elegance! I told the husband this last night and attempted (poor attempts) at demonstrating what I saw, upon his request. I guess it piqued his interest because he started to have thoughts related to private dancers and harem. Men.
But seriously, I am inspired to learn how to belly dance, and I know I'll get to it after I've learnt how to work my Motorola phone, knit, rock-climb, play the drums and bake.
